Houston, TX or Robstown, TX (two separate opportunities)
Contract:
6 Months (with potential for permanent hire)
Pay Rate:
Competitive Hourly Rate Role Overview The Project Controls Specialist will support project cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities while working closely with project managers and project controls teams to help keep a major industrial construction project on budget. Key Responsibilities
- Track project costs, budgets, forecasts, and spending trends.
- Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Analyze cost variances and support forecasting efforts.
- Review contractor invoices and reconcile project costs.
- Assist with change orders, budget adjustments, and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain cost data and reporting tools in Excel and Power BI.
- Coordinate with project teams to monitor budget performance and project financials.
- Ensure cost documentation remains accurate and organized. Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in cost analysis, project controls, accounting, construction, or related industries.
- Strong Excel skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience with Power BI, budgeting, forecasting, or cost tracking is a plus.
