TX ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for reviewing job specifications, accurately calculating quantities, and assigning the correct ready-mix concrete products for construction projects. Your daily efforts preparing takeoffs and compiling materials data will directly aid our management team in submitting accurate and competitive bids.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Review blueprints, job specifications, and takeoffs to accurately calculate required concrete quantities and assign the correct ready-mix concrete mixes for each project. Prepare detailed estimation data and material requirements to support the management team in planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Coordinate Information:
Communicate effectively and professionally with internal personnel, clients, and vendors to gather necessary project details and clarify specifications. Analyze the information provide, determine the most cost effective product options available as well as evaluate and offer a variety of proprietary solutions which may add additional value to the project / contractor / company in terms of cost savings, embodied carbon reduction, speed of construction, or product performance. Assist the Business Development Manager and contractors with logging changes, updating quantities, and adjusting estimates when project scopes change. Enter and verify the accuracy of material calculations, ensuring all estimate information is routed through the appropriate internal channels for processing. Maintain an accurate, up-to-date bid schedule and communicate project updates regularly with the Bid Coordinator.
Follow-Up:
Monitor the status of active bids and assist with routine follow-up communications to interested parties. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree or 3 - 5 years of equivalent experience 1-3 years of related work experience preferred Experience in related fields such as Concrete Industry Management, Construction Science and Management, Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering Technical skills such as experience working with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Salesforce Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Organized self-starter Action orientated Time management Effective communication skills Strong organizational skills required
Punctuality Additional Requirements:
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
