About this role Carrier Commercial Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Area Project Manager Lead to oversee and manage all commercial construction modernization and Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls projects in the Houston/Gulf Coast area of Texas. This role requires a highly skilled leader to plan, execute, and deliver projects successfully while managing a team of professionals across multiple locations. The Leader will be responsible for coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to drive project success. Key Responsibilities Primary work locations can be in one of these US cities: Houston, TX, and any other areas along the Gulf Coast down to the Rio Grande Valley. Lead and manage project schedules in collaboration with the project team to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Supervise and mentor a team consisting of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Controls Field Engineers. Ensure projects meet all milestones, timelines, budgets, and performance targets. Utilize Carrier Project Management tools and systems to manage and track project progress. Develop and implement best practices for project management, including standards, procedures, and tools. Maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue backlog forecasting, underbilling, revenue reconciliation, and assistance with accounts receivable issues. Facilitate effective communication between project teams, functional groups, and external clients. Assess project team staffing needs and recruit new team members as necessary. Use job information systems to monitor job-specific data and support procurement/manufacturing requirements. Ensure compliance with all Carrier policies and codes of conduct. Perform other duties as required to drive project success and continuous improvement. This position is incentive eligible. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of HVAC experience 5+ years of project management experience 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software applications. Willing to travel up to 25% in the area Preferred Qualifications Strong leadership and teamwork abilities. Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with integrated project teams. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize both short-term issues and long-term projects. Strategic and tactical thinking to ensure project completion success. Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and foster collaboration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and establish credibility as a leader. Resilience in high-pressure, rapidly changing business environments. Commitment to driving obligations to closure with precision for the benefit of the organization and all stakeholders. Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
