This role actively supports successful project execution by providing accurate, logic-driven CPM schedules that align with contractual requirements, operational plans, and field execution strategies. The Scheduler works collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and owners to ensure schedules are realistic, constructible, and fully integrated with procurement, manpower, and cost considerations. Through continuous schedule analysis, progress tracking, and risk identification, the Construction Scheduler plays a key role in maintaining project momentum, identifying potential delays early, and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a strong understanding of construction means and methods, critical path methodology, and the unique market conditions of the Texas region, including subcontractor availability, weather impacts, permitting processes, and local jurisdictional requirements. Core Responsibilities Schedule Development & Management Develops, maintains, and controls fully logic-linked CPM schedules from preconstruction through project closeout Establishes baseline schedules that reflect approved project execution plans, phasing strategies, and contractual milestones Incorporates procurement schedules, long-lead items, design deliverables, inspections, and owner-furnished equipment into the master schedule Ensures schedule accuracy through proper activity coding, calendars, constraints, and resource loading where applicable Project Execution Support Works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to align schedules with field sequencing, manpower plans, and construction logistics Participates in preconstruction planning, pull-planning sessions, and phase planning workshops to validate activity durations and sequencing Coordinates with subcontractors to review and integrate trade schedules, manpower forecasts, and work plans Supports look-ahead planning and short-interval scheduling to enhance field productivity Project locations throughout Texas, this could include some potential travel when required Progress Tracking & Forecasting Collects and validates weekly or monthly progress updates from project teams and subcontractors Updates schedules to reflect actual progress, approved changes, and evolving project conditions Analyzes schedule performance to identify critical path activities, near-critical paths, and float consumption Produces accurate forecasts for substantial completion, milestone dates, and overall project duration Schedule Analysis & Risk Management Identifies schedule risks related to sequencing, procurement, labor availability, weather, and external factors Performs schedule impact analysis for design changes, owner directives, and unforeseen conditions Develops mitigation and recovery schedules in coordination with project leadership Supports time-related change orders, extensions of time, and delay evaluations Reporting & Communication Prepares detailed schedule narratives, dashboards, and visual reports for internal teams and project stakeholders Presents schedule status, risks, and recovery strategies during project meetings and executive reviews Communicates complex scheduling information in a clear and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences Contractual & Claims Support Ensure scheduling practices comply with contract requirements, owner standards, and company policies Maintains thorough scheduling documentation to support change management and dispute resolution Assists with forensic schedule analysis, delay claims, and expert support as required Process Improvement & Leadership Contributes to the development of company scheduling standards, templates, and best practices Provides guidance and mentorship to project staff on schedule awareness and planning techniques Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, forecasting, and project controls Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other scheduling software. Strong working knowledge of CPM scheduling principles, critical path analysis, and construction sequencing Demonstrated experience supporting projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Temple and Austin market Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules Familiarity with Lean Construction, pull planning, or Last Planner System methodologies Key Skills & Competencies Exceptional analytical and organizational skills Strong collaboration and communication abilities Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex project schedules simultaneously Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment Thank you so much for considering H&W as your next career opportunity.
