Job Description
Position Overview The Project Manager oversees planning, coordination, and execution of projects within the manufacturing and aviation environment, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) setting. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and close projects in accordance with company objectives, budgets, and timelines. Lead project teams across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and procurement departments. Define project scope, goals, milestones, and deliverables aligned with business goals and FAA regulatory requirements. Develop detailed project plans including resource allocation, schedules, risk assessments, and progress tracking. Manage budgets and cost control, ensuring project profitability and adherence to financial targets. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure workflow efficiency. Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance; manage change orders and contract deliverables. Maintain compliance with aviation industry standards, safety policies, and quality management systems (AS9100/ISO9001). Report project progress to executive leadership; provide data-driven updates on KPIs, risks, and corrective actions. Foster continuous improvement initiatives in project delivery, cost control, and process efficiency. Ensure all work is compliant with FAA, OSHA, and company safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, Business, or related field preferred. PMP certification (Project Management Professional) Minimum 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or aviation environment (MRO, aerospace production, component overhaul, or similar). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines. Strong understanding of production workflows, supply chain, and aviation compliance standards. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent project tracking tools. Working knowledge of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), specifically Parts 23 and 25. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to aircraft modification projects, ensuring compliance throughout design, certification, and implementation phases. Experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, or assembly programs. Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement projects.
