Job Description:
Full job description We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Senior Project Manager specializing in Steel Fabrication to lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for construction management, a deep understanding of steel fabrication processes, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively. As a Senior Project Manager, you will drive project success by overseeing schedules, budgets, safety standards, and regulatory compliance while fostering strong client relationships and ensuring quality delivery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead structural and miscellaneous steel projects from contract award through final completion Manage large, complex, or high-value projects with significant fabrication and field scope Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure full understanding of project requirements Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with fabrication, purchasing, and field teams Serve as primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors Monitor project budgets, job costs, labor hours, and material usage to ensure profitability targets are met Identify risks, cost impacts, or schedule conflicts early and implement solutions Coordinate with Estimating to ensure smooth transition from bid to project execution Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of steel, materials, and subcontracted services Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Coordinate detailing, shop drawings, and approvals to maintain production schedules Work with Shop, Production, and Field teams to align fabrication and erection timelines Review subcontractor and vendor proposals, contracts, and invoices for accuracy Conduct project meetings with internal teams and customers as required Perform job site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain customer relationships Assist in forecasting workload, manpower needs, and material requirements Mentor and support junior Project Managers or Project Engineers as applicable Help develop and improve project management procedures, reporting, and controls Support leadership with operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure all projects comply with company safety, quality, and operational standards Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required 10+ years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, construction, or industrial contracting Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, and construction project workflows Experience managing large, multi-phase, or high-value projects Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong financial and cost management skills Experience working with general contractors, fabricators, and subcontractors Excellent communication and client-facing skills Strong leadership ability and experience mentoring junior staff preferred Proficiency with project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel required) Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills Join our team as a Senior Project Manager (Steel Fabrication) if you're eager to lead innovative projects that shape the future of infrastructure development!
