Generation Project Manager 12 months contract Surry VA This is a Nuclear role The project will be executed in carefully planned phases over the next decade, balancing innovation with operational reliability and minimizing impacts to plant operations. This position will contribute to the planning, engineering, licensing, construction, and implementation of next-generation nuclear plant technologies designed to improve plant performance, maintainability, and operator effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Support project management activities for the Digital I&C SLR modernization program. Coordinate engineering, construction, technical, licensing, and project activities across multiple project phases. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with engineering teams, construction personnel, technical specialists, project stakeholders, and plant operations. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies. Support implementation of digital technologies within a highly regulated nuclear environment. Ensure project activities are executed in accordance with applicable nuclear, safety, quality, engineering, and regulatory requirements. Provide clear project status updates and communicate issues, milestones, and schedule impacts to leadership and stakeholders. Support planning and execution of work while minimizing impacts to ongoing plant operations. Coordinate project activities associated with modernization of safety-related and non-safety-related I&C systems and main control room technologies. Perform other project management and technical duties as required.
Required / Preferred
Qualifications Experience 7-8+ years of industry experience in construction, engineering, finance, project management, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated project management experience. Experience working in the nuclear industry is strongly preferred. Experience supporting engineering, construction, technical projects, or skilled trades is preferred. Experience working in a highly regulated or complex industrial environment is highly desirable. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred. Skilled trade certification may be considered in lieu of a degree based on relevant experience. PMP certification preferred. Preferred Industry Experience Candidates with experience in the following areas are strongly preferred: Nuclear power or nuclear industry Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering Construction Skilled trades Large-scale industrial modernization projects Highly regulated technical environments Interview Process Panel interview conducted via Microsoft Teams with video or in person.
