Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex initiatives in Richmond, Virginia while ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables remain aligned with organizational goals. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual who can coordinate stakeholders, maintain strong project controls, and provide clear reporting throughout the full project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine structured planning, financial oversight, and effective communication to support successful project execution in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects from initiation through completion, keeping scope, schedules, budgets, and milestones on track.
  • Prepare and maintain core project materials such as charters, work plans, risk logs, communication plans, status updates, and responsibility matrices.
  • Monitor project performance through defined metrics and provide regular progress and expenditure reporting to stakeholders and agency leadership.
  • Coordinate requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation to support informed planning and execution.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies early, drive resolution efforts, and remove obstacles that could affect delivery.
  • Facilitate status meetings, planning sessions, and conference calls, and document key decisions, action items, and follow-up steps.
  • Support procurement and governance processes by ensuring projects align with established standards, controls, and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with finance and planning teams to develop budget plans, manage allocations, and oversee administrative activities tied to project delivery.
  • Communicate upcoming deadlines, deliverables, and priorities to relevant staff to promote timely completion of assigned work.
