Job Description

Mecum Auctions is seeking a highly driven Software Project Manager to help lead execution, operational maturity, and delivery excellence across our technology. Beyond just project coordination or ticket management, we are looking for someone who can bring structure, accountability, visibility, and forward momentum to a fast-moving development team while helping align technical execution with business priorities. You'll work closely with developers, stakeholders, and leadership to drive high-impact initiatives from concept through release—maintaining and improving processes, removing blockers, increasing transparency, and ensuring the development team is executing effectively at every stage of delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership, technical fluency, and organizational awareness with the ability to influence teams, improve execution, and create clarity in complex environments.
Note:
Mecum Auctions does not provide H1B visa sponsorship. What You'll Do
  • Drive execution across multiple independent and/or dependent software initiatives while maintaining alignment between business priorities, technical teams, and leadership expectations
  • Establish structure, accountability, and operational visibility across the software development lifecycle
  • Partner with engineering and business leaders to define priorities, clarify objectives, and ensure successful delivery outcomes
  • Lead project and delivery planning efforts, including roadmap coordination, dependency management, risk mitigation, and release readiness
  • Create and improve operational processes that increase team effectiveness, delivery predictability, and organizational transparency
  • Identify bottlenecks, blockers, and execution gaps early—and proactively drive resolution
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams while ensuring decisions, ownership, and timelines remain clear
  • Drive accountability through measurable delivery metrics, team visibility, and consistent follow-through
  • Communicate status, risks, trade-offs, and execution priorities clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Help teams maintain momentum by balancing tactical execution with long-term process improvement
  • Support Agile delivery practices while continuously improving workflows, planning, and team coordination
  • Assist leadership in improving delivery operations, team scalability, and execution maturity across the organization
  • Maintain organized, high-quality project documentation, release coordination, and operational reporting
  • Support rollout planning, training coordination, and cross-functional implementation efforts when needed
  • Work from the Mecum Home Office and travel to auctions as needed What You Bring
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to create structure and clarity in fast-moving environments
  • Proven ability to drive accountability, execution, and forward momentum across cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated success leading software delivery efforts beyond simple task tracking or coordination
  • Ability to identify organizational inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements
  • Strong business and technical acumen with the ability to translate priorities into actionable execution plans
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience working closely with software engineering teams in Agile development environments
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve conflicts, and make effective decisions under pressure
  • Data-driven approach to measuring delivery performance, operational effectiveness, and team health
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management, dependency planning, and software delivery operations
  • Hands-on experience with project and delivery management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including facilitating sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and delivery coordination activities
  • Experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance, or technical operations is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP, Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), or similar certification is a plus Why Join Mecum?
  • Help shape the future of technology within one of the most recognized brands in the industry
  • Work on high-impact platforms and initiatives used by hundreds of thousands of users
  • Play a visible role in improving execution, operational maturity, and engineering effectiveness across the organization
