We are seeking seeking an experienced, hands-on Household Manager for a private family residence in Brentwood, Los Angeles. This is not a desk-based administrative role. The principals need a practical, resourceful professional who takes ownership of the home, works comfortably alongside an established team of four housekeepers, a private chef, and a nanny, and is willing to get their hands dirty. The successful candidate will be the household's first responder: investigating, troubleshooting, and safely resolving everyday maintenance, technology, appliance, audiovisual, Wi-Fi, and property issues before calling a vendor. They should enjoy figuring things out, know when specialist expertise is genuinely required, and avoid both unnecessary service calls and costly mistakes. Sound judgment, initiative, discretion, and flexibility are essential. The right person anticipates needs, follows through without repeated direction, and keeps the residence functioning smoothly while adapting to changing schedules, locations, and priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This full-time, Monday-through-Friday role is centered on the principals' approximately 9,000 sq. ft. Brentwood residence. The Household Manager may also work from the principal's Westwood office, but the position is primarily active and hands-on rather than desk-based. A family-owned car is available for household errands, airport runs, occasional family transportation, and moving items between properties. The role may also require driving to the family's Santa Barbara residence or traveling to Arizona and other locations for specific needs, projects, or pickups. Flexibility is essential. Occasional weekends, events, later hours, and changing priorities may arise. When the family travels - approximately two to three months per year - the Household Manager will focus on preventative maintenance, repairs, property projects, organization, and return preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Take hands-on ownership of the operation, presentation, maintenance, and readiness of the Brentwood residence. Act as the first responder for household issues, personally assessing and troubleshooting maintenance, appliances, Wi-Fi, audiovisual, technology, and other property systems. Complete routine repairs and practical tasks within your capabilities, while recognizing when qualified specialists are required. Build a thorough working knowledge of the residence and proactively manage preventative and corrective maintenance. Coordinate and supervise vendors when necessary, clearly communicate the issue, evaluate proposed solutions, and verify the quality of completed work. Manage household projects, requests, purchasing, provisioning, inventory, errands, and follow-up through the family's existing app-based system. Work collaboratively with the housekeepers, private chef, and nanny to maintain seamless daily operations. Drive for household and family needs, including airport runs, events, transporting items to other residence, and occasional trips to Arizona or other locations. Prepare the residence for arrivals and departures and use family travel periods to complete maintenance, repairs, organization, and property projects. Anticipate needs, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain absolute discretion and respect for the family's privacy.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of relevant experience in a high-end private residence, estate, or comparable environment. Demonstrated hands-on ability to diagnose and resolve a broad range of household, maintenance, technology, appliance, and property issues. Resourceful, practical approach; comfortable researching unfamiliar problems and completing physical tasks rather than defaulting to outside vendors. Sound judgment regarding personal limits and when licensed or specialized professional assistance is necessary. Strong organization, initiative, follow-through, communication, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with established household staff. Flexibility for occasional weekends, later hours, changing priorities, and travel or driving between California, Arizona, and other locations as needed. Valid driver's license, excellent driving record, local residence, and ability to commute to Brentwood. Absolute professionalism, discretion, and respect for household confidentiality.
