Job Description

Public Safety Services is seeking a dependable, professional Security Officer for an immediate opening at a gated apartment community in Perris, California. This is a highly visible position requiring excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to proactively deter criminal activity while maintaining a safe environment for residents and guests. This position requires an active officer who enjoys working outdoors, conducting frequent foot patrols, and interacting with residents and guests to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming community environment.
Schedule Full-Time Swing Shift:
6:00 PM - 2:00 AM (or as adjusted by client operational needs) Immediate Opening Essential Duties Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the community. Maintain a highly visible security presence to deter criminal activity, vandalism, trespassing, and other unwanted behavior. Monitor community amenities, including swimming pool areas during the summer season. Verify resident pool passes and ensure only authorized residents and guests are using community amenities. Enforce community rules regarding pool occupancy, guest limits, alcohol, glass containers, and posted regulations. Ensure the pool area is secured and closed at the designated closing time. Monitor groups of juveniles or other gatherings to prevent disturbances, vandalism, and violations of community rules. Perform routine security checks of designated buildings, common areas, gates, and other assigned locations. Observe and document parking violations, including fire lanes, red zones, blocked roadways, and handicap parking violations in accordance with client policy. Complete detailed Daily Activity Reports and electronic patrol checkpoints throughout the shift. Report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and emergencies promptly. Provide courteous assistance to residents, guests, vendors, and emergency responders while maintaining a professional presence. Respond appropriately to incidents, document findings thoroughly, and notify management or law enforcement when necessary. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by the client, provided such duties are lawful, within the scope of the security assignment, and approved by the Company. Minimum Qualifications Valid California BSIS Guard Card (Required) Reliable transportation Professional appearance and demeanor Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the shift Comfortable using a smartphone for electronic reporting and patrol verification Prior apartment, patrol, or security experience is preferred but not required What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Professional, dependable, and punctual Observant with strong attention to detail Comfortable interacting with residents and guests in a courteous manner Apartment security experience preferred Able to de-escalate situations using sound judgment and excellent customer service Self-motivated and capable of working independently Committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming residential community Compensation Competitive hourly wage (DOE) $17hr starting Start Date Immediate Opening.
