You'll be responsible for: Providing information to residents regarding the municipal code and communicating complex information in an easy-to-understand manner. Motivating residents toward compliance and enforcing the municipal code. Connecting residents of the community with resources to assist in gaining compliance. Research of property ownership, business licenses, land use, and construction permits. Utilizing critical thinking skills to interpret and apply RCMC and state law. Investigating, documenting, and preparing evidence for administrative, civil or criminal prosecution. Creating positive interactions with reporting parties, witnesses, and violators. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 Community Improvement Officer I Ability to obtain a Certificate of completion of a course in P.C. 832, Arrest, Search and Seizure within eight months of hire. Community Improvement Officer II In addition to the above, one year as a Code Enforcement Officer I with the City of Rancho Cucamonga, or two years of equivalent experience in municipal enforcement inspection or investigation, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of or ability to learn planning, zoning, building inspection, and safety laws and concepts. Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain related laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; conduct investigations into code violations; read and interpret maps, plans, and legal descriptions; operate video camera and digital camera; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; research and prepare written reports; deal constructively with conflict and develop effective resolutions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California drivers license and a satisfactory driving record. Community Improvement Officer I:
$26.78 - $36.12Community Improvement Officer II:
