Job Description

About the Role We're looking for a hands-on, reliable Resident Manager to live on-site at a by-the-bed student housing property near Santa Barbara City of College (SBCC). This is a live-in position — you'll be the primary point of contact for residents and the face of the property day to day. What You'll Do Serve as the on-site point of contact for residents, handling day-to-day questions, concerns, and requests Manage move-ins, move-outs, and unit turnovers, especially around semester start/end dates Coordinate leasing efforts: showings, applications, lease renewals, and waitlist management Enforce community policies and lease terms fairly and consistently Conduct regular property walkthroughs and coordinate maintenance requests with vendors/ownership Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed (live-in role) Keep accurate records of occupancy, rent payments, and resident communications Help foster a safe, respectful living environment for a student population What We're Looking For Previous experience as an on-site property manager, leasing agent, or in a similar residential role Experience working with college students (RA experience, student housing staff, campus life roles, etc.) considered in lieu of formal property management background Strong communication skills and comfort handling sensitive resident issues professionally Highly organized and dependable; comfortable being the "on-call" presence for the property Ability to live on-site full-time (studio apartment provided as part of compensation) Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, property management software a plus) Compensation & Benefits $50,000/year salary Free private studio apartment on-site
