Job Summary:
As a Supervising Counselor, you will play a vital role in the oversight and support of our residential program, ensuring the well-being and development of participants. In this leadership position, you will provide direct care, assist in managing household duties, oversee health and safety, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures. You will also act as the primary manager in the absence of the Program Manager, ensuring smooth operations and continuity of care. Responsibilities Serve as primary contact for participants, families, and staff, ensuring clear communication. Respond to emergencies and summon appropriate personnel per agency protocols. Maintain CPR and medication certifications; perform CPR/Heimlich as needed. Supervise, mentor, and train Direct Support Professionals, ensuring safe implementation of program goals. Support staff in managing behavioral challenges and individualized support plans. Assume Program Manager responsibilities during absences, overseeing operations and staff coordination. Assist residents with daily living activities, health monitoring, and medical coordination. Ensure compliance with licensing, agency policies, and regulations; maintain accurate documentation. Coordinate household operations, including meal planning, shopping, and light maintenance. Facilitate collaboration among staff, families, and external service providers. Promote community engagement and positive social interactions for residents. Participate in state and agency training programs to maintain certifications. Provide staff feedback and performance evaluations to ensure accountability and development. Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive living environment. High school diploma or GED. One year of human service work experience may substitute for education. Preferably one year in rehabilitation, educational, or residential programs Possess a valid driver's license and operate agency vehicles safely. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
