Job Description

Position Summary:
Wesleyan Village is seeking a dedicated and experienced Community Manager to oversee the daily operations of our vibrant community. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least five years in managing a community and will work closely with a team of 24+ staff members. This position requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to foster relationships with both internal teams and external partners, and experience managing a diverse community, including seasonal and year-round residents. The Community Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of 381 homes and a population of approximately 700 residents, with 340 full-time residents and a number of seasonal "snowbird" residents. This role also requires a deep understanding of emergency management, particularly for hurricane preparedness.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of Wesleyan Village, ensuring a positive living experience for residents. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 24 staff members, including maintenance, administrative, and service staff.
Vendor Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, particularly those related to essential services such as the wastewater treatment facility. Continue to build and maintain relationships with Brooksville Community Church and other local organizations.
Resident Engagement:
Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment by proactively engaging with residents, addressing concerns, and fostering a sense of community.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure the smooth operation of the community, including overseeing maintenance schedules, mananging budgets, and ensuring that services meet the needs of the community. Monitor the needs of seasonal and full-time residents.
Emergency Management:
Continue to develop and implement emergency management protocols, particularly for hurricane preparedness. Ensure all residents and staff are informed and trained on safety procedures.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the residents, Board of Directors, and external organizations, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
At least five years of proven experience managing a community, with demonstrated success in overseeing staff and managing operations.
Licensing:
A licensed Community Association Manager (CAM) is preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors, residents, and local organizations. Knowledge of emergency management practices, specifically in relation to hurricanes and other natural disasters. Excellent communication problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficient in community management software and general office applications. Wesleyan Village is affiliated with the Wesleyan Church and operates as a Christian 55+ retirement community.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position that requires working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to Noon with the possibility of some work outside normal office hours. The position requires occasional interaction with external partners and participation in community events. The Community Manager will report directly to the General Director of the Board.
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
