Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Rental Assistant to join our property management team. In this energetic role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective tenants and current residents, ensuring a seamless leasing experience. Your proactive approach will help facilitate property rentals, maintain tenant relationships, and support administrative functions essential to our property management operations. Responsibilities Assist prospective tenants with inquiries, property tours, and application processes, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage lease or rental agreement documentation accurately using property management software such as Appfolio, Yardi or OneSite. Coordinate with landlords and tenants to ensure compliance with lease terms, including Section 8 and LIHTC regulations. Maintain up-to-date records of tenant files, rent payments, and maintenance requests through efficient data entry and filing systems. Support lease renewals, rent collection, and late payment follow-ups while upholding Fair Housing regulations. Handle customer service interactions professionally via phone, email, and in person, resolving conflicts swiftly and effectively. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and facilities management tasks as needed. Skills Proven experience with property management software such as Appfolio, Yardi, Etc. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and lease or rental agreement management. Background in real estate administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and contract management. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities. Familiarity with Section 8 housing programs, LIHTC compliance, and facilities management practices. Ability to negotiate lease terms and upsell additional services or amenities to prospective tenants. Office experience supporting administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and customer relationship management systems.
