Full Time Location:
Central Massachusetts /Worcester County Work Setting:
On-site at a large multifamily community A privately held property management company is seeking an experienced, customer-service-focused Community Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a large residential community. This full-time position offers competitive compensation and benefits. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a multifamily property or comparable residential community and will be comfortable balancing resident service, leasing, financial administration, vendor coordination, compliance, and team leadership. The Community Manager will be responsible for maintaining effective operations, supporting the financial performance of the community, enhancing the resident experience, and leading the on-site team. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial and Administrative Operations Support the financial performance of the community in accordance with company objectives. Maintain accurate operational and resident records. Prepare or assist with budgets, forecasts, rent reports, delinquency reports, and other financial reporting. Ensure rent, fees, and other payments are collected, recorded, and processed accurately. Coordinate required notices and legal documentation in accordance with applicable laws and company procedures. Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding scheduling, billing, documentation, and insurance requirements. Review invoices and submit financial documentation for processing. Maintain organized, accurate, and timely administrative records. Leasing and Marketing Maintain strong occupancy and leasing performance. Implement approved marketing and outreach strategies. Monitor leasing activity, traffic, conversion, renewals, and other performance indicators. Support and coach leasing personnel in delivering an effective prospective-resident experience. Conduct property tours and assist prospective residents when needed. Ensure leasing documentation and related records are completed accurately and on time. Resident Relations and Retention Respond to resident concerns and service needs promptly and professionally. Promote resident satisfaction and retention. Coordinate resident communications, events, notices, and other community initiatives. Maintain a positive, respectful, and service-oriented community environment. Team Leadership Supervise, support, and develop the on-site team. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management. Prepare staff schedules and coordinate daily assignments. Coordinate office and maintenance activities to support efficient operations. Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a positive workplace culture. Complete personnel-related documentation accurately and on time. Property Operations and Maintenance Coordination Conduct regular inspections of the community and identify maintenance or appearance concerns. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure service requests and repairs are addressed promptly. Help maintain apartments and common areas in market-ready condition. Monitor the quality and timeliness of maintenance and turnover work. Support the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the community. Safety and Compliance Follow and enforce applicable company, local, state, and federal requirements. Identify and address unsafe conditions promptly. Coordinate the appropriate response to property emergencies and incidents. Maintain an operational approach focused on safety, risk reduction, and resident well-being. Qualifications Previous property management experience, preferably in a multifamily residential setting. Experience supervising or leading an on-site team. Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of leasing, resident relations, collections, budgeting, maintenance coordination, and compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with property management software preferred. Experience with revenue-management software is a plus.
