Job Description

NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit leader in human services, is excited to announce an opportunity for a Peer Mentor at our Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) in Westborough, MA. This unique role is ideal for someone passionate about using their personal recovery journey to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth facing serious emotional and behavioral challenges. As a Peer Mentor, you'll bring your lived experience as a former client of a long-term residential program and help guide youth on their path to recovery. Your story and insight can provide invaluable support, hope, and encouragement for the youth we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong, trusting relationships with youth, supporting them through challenges and recovery goals. Engage in one-on-one conversations and offer assistance during tough times. Serve as a role model, sharing your personal recovery journey to inspire hope. Participate in treatment teams, collaborating with staff and external agencies. Lead and facilitate treatment groups, supporting the youth's personal growth. Act as a liaison between staff and youth to enhance mutual understanding. Advocate for youth, ensuring their voice is heard and respected within the program and community.
Qualifications:
Must have received treatment services in a long-term residential setting (e.g., IRTP, therapeutic residential programs) as a youth. Be stable and advanced enough in your recovery to work with youth who may share similar experiences. Possess high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Available for flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, or weekends. Must hold a valid driver's license or state ID.
Hourly Rate:
