Synstelien Community Services (SCS) is looking for someone who enjoys helping others—not only the individuals we support, but also the team members who care for them every day. As a Residential Direct Support Manager , you'll combine hands-on caregiving with front-line leadership. You'll work alongside your team providing direct support while coaching employees, coordinating services, and creating a home where both staff and the individuals we serve can thrive. What You'll Do This is a hands-on leadership position that combines supervision with direct care. As a Leader, you'll: Coach, mentor, and support Direct Support Professionals Build a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching Complete performance evaluations and support employee development Address employee concerns professionally and respectfully Ensure documentation, care plans, and program requirements remain accurate and compliant Communicate with healthcare providers, families, case managers, and other members of the support team Help solve daily challenges while maintaining a calm, organized environment As a Direct Support Professional, you'll: Assist individuals with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, medication support, and personal hygiene Promote independence and teach daily living skills Encourage participation in community activities and personal interests Provide companionship and emotional support Observe and report changes in health, behavior, or support needs Assist with appointments and transportation Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment Respond appropriately in emergencies, including providing First Aid or CPR when needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys helping people succeed Leads by example Communicates with kindness and professionalism Remains calm under pressure Can balance multiple responsibilities while staying organized Values teamwork and collaboration Believes every individual deserves dignity, respect, and opportunities to grow If you've been a Direct Support Professional and have found yourself naturally mentoring new staff or stepping into leadership, this may be the perfect next step in your career.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED Experience providing direct care in residential services, assisted living, home health, hospice, healthcare, or a related field Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
