About Us Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. We provide a wide range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children. About the Role We are seeking a Developmental Disability (DD) Supervisor
  • Community Based to provide supervision of IDD Community Direct Support Professionals, including supervision meetings with supervisees, reviewing billing documentation, compliance and training documentation, and ensuring quality client care.
This also includes maintaining schedules and timesheet approval. The IDD Community Manager may carry a caseload and shall coordinate and monitor services on behalf of the recipient. Deliver services in various environments, such as homes, schools, jails (for state funds only), homeless shelters, etc. Provide linkage of consumer/family to services/resources, develops and maintains the consumer's Person Centered Plan, which includes initial development and updates every 90 days. Arrange and facilitate Person Centered Plan meetings and provide a minimum of two (2) contacts per month with one (1) contact occurring face-to-face with the recipient. Facilitate consumer's access to services through the authorization process by completing all needed paperwork associated with this process. This description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role. It is not intended to include every duty or responsibility that may be required of employees in this position. Compensation This role is compensated on a salaried basis, providing consistent earnings aligned with the responsibilities and expectations of the position.
Compensation:
$47,126
  • $60,515 Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience. What You Can Expect Supervise and support staff

  • Review paperwork, approve timesheets, track billing, and ensure program requirements are met.
Responsibilities Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure quality care and compliance. Coordinate services and manage caseloads for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Develop, update, and facilitate Person-Centered Plans and team meetings. Maintain accurate documentation, complete service authorizations, and approve staff timesheets. Qualifications Must have a valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage. All IDD Community Supervisors must meet one of the following: A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a field other than human services with 4 years experience working with the
MH/SA/DD
population to be served. A bachelor's degree in human services with 2 years experience working with the population served. A master's degree in human services with 1 year experience working with population served. A professionally licensed clinician.
