Community Living Program ManagerJob Overview Top Care Support is currently seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Community Living Program Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality residential and community-based support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The Community Living Program Manager will provide leadership and oversight to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring individuals receive safe, person-centered, and high-quality services that promote independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and achievement of individualized goals. This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing direct support responsibilities with administrative and program management duties. The Community Living Program Manager will be responsible for maintaining consistent staffing and program operations, supporting staff development, collaborating with individuals' families and support teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and organizational standards. This position requires a minimum of 24-32 hours per week of direct support shifts. In addition to scheduled direct support hours, the Community Living Program Manager must maintain flexibility to provide coverage for staff call-outs, unexpected staffing shortages, vacations, PTO, and other approved staff absences when necessary to ensure continuity of care and safe program operations. We are seeking a motivated and organized professional with strong communication and leadership skills, managerial experience in the I/DD field, and a genuine understanding of the diverse needs, abilities, and preferences of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Direct Support & Program Oversight Provide a minimum of 24-32 hours per week of direct support to individuals served within the Community Living Program. Provide hands-on support and supervision to ensure individuals receive safe, respectful, person-centered, and high-quality services. Maintain flexibility to fill in for staff call-outs and provide coverage during employee vacations, PTO, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs as necessary. Oversee daily program operations and ensure services are delivered in accordance with individualized service plans, agency policies, and regulatory requirements. Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and developing greater independence, community integration, and meaningful engagement. Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and continuity of services for all individuals supported. Monitor the quality of direct support services and address concerns promptly. Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment that recognizes and supports each individual's unique abilities and needs. Staff Management, Scheduling & Training Lead, supervise, and support a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage. Respond to staffing call-outs and coordinate coverage as needed. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified DSP candidates. Participate in onboarding and new-hire orientation. Conduct and coordinate individualized and specialty training based on the needs of individuals served. Ensure DSPs receive appropriate training, supervision, coaching, and ongoing professional development. Regularly evaluate staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance when necessary. Foster a positive team culture built on accountability, professionalism, communication, and quality service delivery. Ensure staff are appropriately matched with individuals based on their skills, experience, and the needs of the individual. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities Oversee and manage program schedules, staffing assignments, and coverage needs. Coordinate and oversee menu planning to ensure meals and food selections are appropriate and aligned with individuals' preferences, dietary needs, and applicable recommendations. Oversee individual engagement and activity planning , ensuring individuals have meaningful opportunities for recreation, socialization, skill development, community participation, and personal interests. Monitor program supplies and coordinate supply ordering and inventory management to ensure necessary household, program, and individual-specific supplies are available. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure all required paperwork is completed and properly filed. Attend meetings as required, including ISP meetings, team meetings, and other meetings related to the individuals served. Ensure the program maintains appropriate administrative records and documentation. Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Compliance, Administrative staff, Department Directors, and other internal teams to support effective program operations. Clinical & Family Collaboration Communicate and collaborate with internal clinical care teams to address the medical, behavioral, and clinical needs of individuals served. Maintain positive and professional relationships with individuals' guardians, families, Support Coordinators, and other members of the individual's support team. Participate in the development and implementation of individualized supports designed to meet each person's unique needs, preferences, and goals. Communicate concerns, changes in condition, incidents, and other significant matters to the appropriate members of the individual's support team. Support the implementation of recommendations from clinical professionals and other members of the individual's care team. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure the Community Living Program operates in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies. Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and other applicable plans and requirements. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous quality improvement. Ensure incidents, concerns, and other reportable events are addressed and documented in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Continuously educate yourself and staff to promote greater understanding, inclusion, dignity, independence, and acceptance of individuals with I/DD. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supervisory, managerial, or leadership role. Previous experience supervising or managing Direct Support Professionals. Strong understanding of the unique needs, abilities, and support requirements of individuals with I/DD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance direct support and administrative responsibilities. Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and responsibilities. Must possess a positive, enthusiastic, professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills. Experience or training in crisis management and behavioral intervention. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, staff, and external professionals. Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to provide direct support coverage when staffing needs arise. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on program and staffing needs. $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
