Job Description
Overview Originate first mortgage loans with a concentration on low-moderate income ("LMI") and Community Reinvestment Act ("CRA") type transactions to promote the Bank's Fair Lending activities. Activity promotes the financial institution and lending services to the real estate communities and help identify and serve the community's financial needs through home loan counseling, real estate agent seminars and sales meeting and by participating in and promoting the institutions community actives Responsibilities The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Solicit first mortgage loans with special focus on first-time home buyers ("FTHB"). Inform prospective loan clients of the institutions underwriting guidelines and applicable government regulations. Assist loan applicant in completing application and necessary disclosures. Complete loan application and pre-processing functions in a timely manner; prepare for review initial disclosure including loan estimates. Enter data from new loan applications and other documents into the Bank's operating system. Order credit reports and other items as needed. Personally answer incoming calls and schedules appointments. Provide follow-up on a consistent basis with borrowers, and agents to complete processing. Communicate complex approvals or denials to the borrower-agents including real estate agents / builders. Respond to inquiries from borrowers regarding status of loans in process. Complete necessary information such as log entries and business sourcing. Distributes Bank approved marketing materials and perform various activities focused on generating both FTHB and LMI loans. Actively participates in local FTHB, LMI and CRA development activities as directed by the Bank. Ensures regulatory compliance with all relevant real estate and mortgage laws. Qualifications HS diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience in related mortgage or similar sales experience or equivalent. MS Office proficiency required. Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures. Good working relationship with homeownership groups, councilors and others involved with local communities. High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills.
