A Property Manager manages operations for an apartment building or complex. Recruits and screens tenants for apartments, collects rents and security deposits, responds to requests or complaints from tenants, supervises maintenance and repairs; oversees payment of bills, insurance, taxes and recordkeeping. Manages property and services on behalf of a community association, for properties such as condominiums or cooperatives. Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Job Description

Job Summary A growing multifamily real estate company is seeking a hands-on Property Manager to oversee daily leasing, collections, and tenant-related operations across approximately 500 residential units located throughout the Northeast. This position reports to the Director of Property Management and is supported by approximately five virtual assistants, along with local property and maintenance teams in each market. Local teams handle inspections, maintenance, and on-site emergencies, allowing this position to focus on leasing, collections, tenant communication, and daily operational follow-through. Responsibilities Manage daily leasing activity and tenant communication Monitor collections, delinquencies, payment plans, and outstanding balances Follow up on unresolved tenant and account matters Maintain accurate tenant, leasing, and collection records in Yardi Work with virtual assistants and local property teams to complete daily tasks Escalate significant tenant or operational issues when necessary Provide clear updates to the Director of Property Management Ensure important matters are followed through to completion Qualifications Multifamily property management experience required Strong collections and tenant-communication experience Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working with remote administrative support and local property teams Yardi or similar property management software experience preferred Proactive, accountable, and solution-oriented Compensation and Benefits Salary of $70,000-$80,000 per year Seven days of paid time off annually Opportunities for advancement based on performance and company growth Health insurance and retirement benefits are not currently offered This is a full-time, in-office position. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required when an urgent matter needs to be completed.
