Seeking an Assistant Building Manager to support the daily operations, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance of its commercial properties located between the Bronx and Hudson Valley. This role works closely with the Property Manager to ensure the safety and security of building tenants while coordinating building maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects. The position requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with vendors, contractors, and tenants to maintain smooth building operations. The successful candidate will help oversee building systems, assist with inspections and compliance requirements, and support both operational and capital improvement initiatives across the properties. Building Operations & Maintenance- Coordinate building maintenance and repair activities.
- Resolve maintenance issues and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Liaise with vendors and contractors to support ongoing building operations.
- Monitor work performed by vendors and contractors for quality and compliance.
- Assist with special projects and other operational initiatives as needed. Building Inspections & Compliance
- Perform written site inspections as required.
- Ensure the properties remain compliant with fire and safety codes.
- Assist with company, state, local, federal, and agency inspection requirements.
- Collaborate with tenants and building personnel on emergency planning (fire, flooding, etc.). Construction & Improvement Projects
- Supervise building improvement and repair projects.
- Assist the Property Manager in preparing annual budget estimates for building improvements.
- Review drawings and specifications related to building repairs and renovations.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors performing construction or repair work.

- 5+ years of experience in commercial property maintenance.
What Sets You Apart:
- Working knowledge of building systems including MEP and life safety systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications.
- Experience overseeing vendors and contractors performing maintenance or renovation work.
- Familiarity with building maintenance equipment, materials, and repair techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and building system issues.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Building/Energy Management Systems is a plus.
