Community Navigation Team Lead - A Way Out & Connect to Recovery New Directions Addiction Recovery Services (NDARS) Crystal Lake, IL Full-Time | Salaried $47,000 - $50,000 annually Make a Difference in Recovery New Directions Addiction Recovery Services (NDARS) is seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven professional to serve as our Community Navigation Team Lead for the A Way Out and Connect to Recovery programs. This position provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of Community Navigation services that connect individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders to treatment, recovery support, housing resources, and community-based services throughout McHenry County. This is a working leadership role that combines direct participant support with team coordination, community engagement, and program oversight. About A Way Out & Connect to Recovery A Way Out and Connect to Recovery are community-based initiatives designed to eliminate barriers to treatment and recovery by providing individuals and families with immediate access to resources, treatment referrals, recovery support services, and community connections. Through partnerships with healthcare systems, law enforcement agencies, treatment providers, and community organizations, these programs serve as a critical access point for individuals seeking help and hope. Position ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Coordination Coordinate Community Navigator schedules and ensure adequate service coverage. Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and leadership to Community Navigation staff. Serve as the primary operational contact for Community Navigators. Assist with onboarding and training new staff. Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions. Promote accountability, professionalism, and effective communication among team members. Direct Service & Community Navigation Maintain a limited participant caseload. Connect individuals and families to treatment, recovery resources, housing, and community services. Support participants through engagement, referral, and follow-up activities. Provide direct coverage when operational needs require. Program Operations & Grant Compliance Monitor program activity, documentation, and service outcomes. Review program data and ensure accurate reporting. Assist with grant-related performance tracking and outcome reporting. Support continuous quality improvement efforts. Ensure services align with organizational policies and funding requirements. Community Partnerships & Outreach Attend community meetings and represent NDARS professionally. Maintain relationships with healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies, treatment providers, and community partners. Promote awareness of A Way Out and Connect to Recovery throughout McHenry County. Assist with community outreach and engagement activities. QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED. Minimum two years of experience in human services, peer support, recovery support, outreach, case management, behavioral health, or a related field. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Leadership or supervisory experience. Experience working in substance use recovery, behavioral health, healthcare, or community outreach. CRSS, CPRS, CADC, or similar credential. Experience with grant-funded programs and performance reporting. Familiarity with community-based recovery resources.
