JOB SUMMARY
This is a full-time position (80 Hours Bi-Weekly). This position is to supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSP) staff and the people we support of the Community Volunteer site. The supervisor is responsible for the development and adherence to activity schedules, supervise and engage in meaningful and person-centered activities for people being supported in the community. Ensure all reports and paperwork are completed as required. Paperwork includes daily notes, attendance reports, vehicle inspection reports, and others as they arise. Responsible for staff scheduling, staff time sheet approval, assure quality and accuracy of daily notes, up to date health passports, Go Files, SIS assessments, risk assessments, incident reports, etc. This position requires good communication, written and verbal, organization and administration skills, and computer knowledge plus flexibility to work effectively and dependably. The Supervisor reflects professionalism and represents Orange Grove in the community and should maintain positive and productive relationships with the community members, co-workers, site's landlords, employer staff and management and people being supported. The Supervisor will demonstrate leadership abilities and a positive attitude in all situations and uphold the policies and procedures of Orange Grove Center. The supervisor is expected to transport people supported when necessary, so reliable transportation, proof of vehicle insurance and a valid driver's license "F" Endorsement are required upon hire
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and supports DSPs staff on daily operations at a community site. Ensure staff trainings and others requirement are valid and up to date. Responsible for site security and daily opening and closing of the facility. Monitor DSPs attendances to ensure the compliance of staff to individuals working ratio. Serve as mealtime card and Behavior Support Plan trainer. Collaborate and communicate with SPC/case manager, Employment, residential, families and others members to provide efficient and effective supports for individuals. Adhere to daily activity schedules, and quality community outings are carried out for the benefit of people supported. Supervise the check in and check out process to ensure all individuals are accounted for. Ensure staff compliance and knowledgeable with the Conducts Violation Policy. Responsible of transportation duties to ensure procedures are followed and serve as the secondary vehicle checker when the site is the last stop. Train DSPs on individuals' outcomes and action plans to ensure correct implementation and documentation. Monitor to ensure staff complete Daily Notes are on time and accurate. Ensure DSPs complete required reports such as yellow and white incident reports, seizure reports, behavior reports, etc. accurately and in timely manner. Maintain stocks and request necessary cleaning and operational supplies for the site. Ensure all staff proficient and knowledgeable on all emergency procedures. Serve as liaison between site's landlord personnel and Orange Grove Center personnel. Responsible for ensuring that all items such as electronics and document containing HIPPA and other personal information are secured and locked up when not in use. Ensure that staff comply with the personal cell phones using policy. Conduct meeting with staff and management on a regular basis and as needed.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Prior supervisor/ management experience preferred. Professional and/or lived experience working with individuals who have disabilities, complex needs, or who are aging experience preferred. Must possess the understanding of the importance of individuals with disabilities being active in a variety of community settings. Must have great people's skills and problem-solving techniques, and great computer and organizational skills. High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Health must allow for efficient accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities. Physical examination, TB skin test and drug screen are required.
