Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of a small portfolio of HUD-subsidized housing programs located in Kyle, Texas. The Property Manager will be responsible for the management and administration of public housing and project-based rental assistance units, ensuring full compliance with HUD regulations while maintaining high standards of property operations and resident satisfaction.

This role will oversee tenant management, leasing and recertifications, vendor coordination, property inspections, and maintenance oversight while supporting financial reporting and regulatory compliance requirements. The Property Manager will work closely with leadership to ensure efficient operations, strong resident engagement, and the long-term sustainability of the housing programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing affordable housing communities, a working knowledge of HUD compliance and tenant eligibility processes, and strong organizational and communication skills. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, well-managed housing and supporting a positive living environment for residents.

Responsibilities Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, rent collection, maintenance requests, and tenant relations Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality Conduct regular inspections to uphold property standards and identify repair needs Handle lease negotiations, renewals, and enforce lease agreements in compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law Maintain accurate records using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; oversee data entry, filing, and reporting processes Address tenant concerns promptly through effective conflict management and excellent customer service skills Oversee legal administrative tasks related to contracts, Section 8 housing programs, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other regulatory compliance requirements Upsell additional services or amenities to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention Collaborate with vendors for property maintenance and repairs while managing budgets and service agreements Ensure adherence to all legal requirements including Fair Housing regulations and local landlord-tenant laws Develop and implement programs and services to enhance the quality of life for residents, including job training, educational opportunities, and health and wellness programs.2. Foster partnerships with local organizations and service providers to expand resources available to residents.3. Encourage resident participation in community activities and governance.

Requirements Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a focus on residential or commercial properties Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law Proficiency with property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite; experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus Excellent customer service skills paired with effective conflict management and negotiation abilities Office experience with data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative tasks essential for daily operations Familiarity with property leasing processes, contracts management, facilities management, and property maintenance coordination Ability to handle legal administrative tasks related to leases and regulatory compliance confidently Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting Join us in creating vibrant communities by managing properties efficiently while delivering outstanding service!
