Overall operation, profitability, brand compliance, and guest satisfaction of the property. 1. Overall Property Operations Oversee daily hotel operations across all departments Ensure smooth coordination between Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Sales Act as the primary decision-maker for the property Ensure hotel is clean, safe, and guest-ready at all times 2. Guest Satisfaction & Service Recovery Ensure high guest satisfaction scores ( reviews, surveys) Personally handle escalated guest complaints and service recovery Monitor and respond to online reviews (Choice, Google, OTA) Implement corrective action plans for recurring issues Ensure service standards align with Choice Hotels brand expectations 3. Financial Management & Profitability Manage hotel budget and control expenses Review daily revenue, ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR Approve rate overrides, discounts, and complimentary rooms Review invoices, accounts payable, and vendor contracts Ensure proper cash handling, deposits, and audit compliance 4. Front Office & Revenue Oversight Oversee Front Office Manager and desk operations Ensure rate integrity, inventory control, and room availability Monitor no-shows, cancellations, overbookings, and walk situations Coordinate with Revenue Management on pricing and restrictions Ensure accurate billing, folios, and guest accounts 5. Housekeeping & Maintenance Oversight Ensure housekeeping staffing, productivity, and quality standards Monitor room cleanliness scores and inspection readiness Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed Track out-of-order rooms and minimize downtime Check maintenance repairs and capital needs 6. Brand Standards & Compliance (Choice Hotels) Maintain Choice brand standards at all times Prepare for and pass brand inspections and QA audits Ensure required brand programs and training are completed Implement brand-mandated initiatives and upgrades Maintain accurate brand reporting and documentation 7. Staff Leadership & Human Resources Hire, train, coach, and discipline department heads Approve schedules, timecards, and payroll Conduct performance reviews and goal setting Enforce hotel policies and labor law compliance Foster a positive, accountable team culture 8. Safety, Security & Risk Management Ensure guest, staff, and property safety Handle incident reports, accidents, and claims Ensure OSHA, fire, and safety compliance Enforce key control and access procedures Coordinate with local authorities when needed 9. Sales, Marketing & Community Relations Support local sales efforts and corporate accounts Build relationships with local businesses and organizations Monitor group blocks and long-term stays Ensure hotel listings, photos, and descriptions are accurate online 10. Reporting & Ownership Communication Prepare and review weekly/monthly performance reports Communicate challenges, and opportunities to ownership Daily shifts note communication with Ownership Recommend operational improvements and cost-saving strategies Track competitive set performance 11.
