Bilingual Property Manager - 264-Unit Apartment Community Hartford Rentals - 2.0 Newport News, VA Job Details Full-time $51,160.50 - $70,000.00 a year 2 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Paid time off Parental leave 401(k) matching Qualifications Spanish Customer communication English Administrative experience Office experience Full Job Description We are seeking a motivated, professional, and dependable Bilingual Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of a 264-unit multifamily apartment community in Newport News, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, possess excellent customer-service and organizational skills, and have the ability to lead the property toward strong occupancy, improved collections, and high resident satisfaction. Property management experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has at least one year of professional office experience and is eager to learn and grow within the multifamily housing industry. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of a 264-unit apartment community Develop and carry out marketing strategies to generate traffic and increase occupancy Respond to leasing inquiries, conduct property tours, and follow up with prospective residents Process applications, leases, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs Monitor resident accounts and actively manage delinquent balances Communicate professionally with residents regarding rent, lease requirements, and community policies Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure work orders and property repairs are completed promptly Conduct regular property and unit inspections Ensure vacant apartments are prepared and ready for new residents Address resident questions and concerns with professionalism, fairness, and urgency Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming community environment Maintain accurate resident files, reports, notices, and property records Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies Assist with budgeting, vendor coordination, invoice review, and property expenses Maintain the overall appearance, safety, and performance of the community Qualifications Must be fluent in both English and Spanish At least one year of professional office or administrative experience required Previous property management, leasing, customer service, or collections experience is preferred Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Comfortable handling resident concerns and difficult conversations professionally Basic computer skills and the ability to learn property management software Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Dependable, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations is a plus What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the property, leads with professionalism, and understands the importance of occupancy, collections, maintenance, and resident satisfaction.
