Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Residential Manager to oversee our portfolio of affordable rental properties. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of housing communities that serve diverse populations, including residents utilizing Section 8 vouchers and other affordable housing programs. As a Residential Manager, you will lead property operations, foster positive resident relationships, and ensure compliance with all relevant housing regulations. Your energetic leadership will drive property performance, enhance resident satisfaction, and promote a safe, welcoming environment for all. Responsibilities Manage daily property operations, including leasing, rent collection, and maintenance coordination to ensure optimal property performance. Oversee tenant screening processes, lease signings, and move-in/move-out procedures with attention to Fair Housing regulations and legal compliance. Maintain accurate data entry and recordkeeping using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; handle contracts, legal documents, and filing systematically. Facilitate communication between residents, staff, contractors, and external agencies to resolve issues promptly and effectively. Ensure properties meet safety standards through regular inspections and coordinate facilities management and maintenance activities using CMMS or other systems. Uphold compliance with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 guidelines, Landlord-Tenant Law, and Fair Housing regulations through ongoing staff training and policy enforcement. Handle conflict management situations with professionalism, employing negotiation skills to resolve disputes amicably while maintaining positive customer relationships. Support leasing efforts by upselling available units and promoting community amenities to prospective residents; maintain excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards. Skills Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, Landlord-Tenant Law, Fair Housing regulations, and legal administrative experience. Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms; experience with data entry, filing systems, and office administration. Excellent customer service skills coupled with conflict management abilities to foster positive resident relations. Experience in property management operations including leasing, maintenance coordination, facilities management, and real estate administrative tasks. Skilled in negotiation of contracts and lease agreements; adept at upselling units while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette; capable of handling sensitive situations with tact and professionalism. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
