  • $16 per hour (based on experience in the mental health field)
  • Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Engagement Coach to work directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting clients and facilitating enriching activities within the community, focusing on skill-building and life-enhancement strategies. This position is crucial for empowering individuals to develop essential life skills and become more engaged members of their communities.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation:
  • Safely transport clients to and from various community locations, ensuring timely pickup and drop-off.
  • Activity Facilitation:
  • Plan and lead community activities tailored to the individual needs and preferences of clients to promote social interaction and personal growth.
  • Skill Building:
  • Implement skill-building exercises focusing on daily living skills, social skills, and community participation to enhance the clients' independence and quality of life.
  • Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly assess and document client progress, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to activities and approaches.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create and adjust individualized plans that meet the specific needs of each client.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while ensuring the well-being of clients during activities.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in the mental health field is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUIs in the last five years. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed in their personal development.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and assist clients as needed, and engage in physical activities throughout the day.
