Job Description

The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services is seeking a dynamic, talented leader to join our Residential Services as Senior Manager. In support of Residential Services, the Senior Manager provides leadership and oversight of program operations, staff, and resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leads staff and promotes a culture that values employees and engenders the trust and confidence of the Board of Supervisors, departmental leadership, staff, volunteers, and the public. Establishes goals and monitors productivity. Advises on policy and procedural issues. Allocates resources and completes projects. Assists with planning the short-term and long-term strategic direction of the Department. Provides leadership to ensure Department's goals and objectives are achieved. Conducts research on issues affecting Residential Services and reviews pending legislation that may impact operations. Provides professional advice and counsel to coworkers and shares knowledge and information based on areas of technical expertise. Masters degree in Psychology, Business, Public Administration or other department-related area and four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including three (3) years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a government setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Professional/management certification in a related area and active membership in job-related professional organizations. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
Special requirements:
May be required to work after hours and on weekends. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate needs of the assigned position. This position is designated as essential personnel and may be subject to call or recall 24 hours/day and seven days a week May assist at the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergencies. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
