Job Description

Join our dynamic team at the Downtown Rutland Partnership! As an Assistant Director, you will work closely with the Executive Director, downtown merchants, property owners, and key community stakeholders to champion the vibrancy of Downtown Rutland. This role is ideal for someone passionate about community engagement, local business growth, and event planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Outreach Proactively connect with downtown businesses through in-person visits, phone, email, newsletters, and committee meetings. Analyze and report on business initiatives to drive downtown growth and success. Guide businesses in accessing grants, loans, and other resources to support their development. Stay updated on relevant local, state, and federal funding opportunities. Collaborate with the Executive Director and community partners to match new businesses with available spaces downtown. Downtown Events Assist in the planning and executing exciting special events in the downtown district. Coordinate with vendors, merchants, and community organizations to ensure smooth event operations. Build and nurture relationships with event sponsors and donors. Work with the Executive Director to identify and secure new revenue opportunities, including event-based income and advertising. Research and organize small business workshops to benefit local entrepreneurs. Social Media & Branding Keep the Downtown Rutland Partnership website up to date with accurate business and event information, ensuring relevance and timeliness. Support the management of social media across multiple platforms to engage the community. Generate creative content for newsletters and e-blasts to keep stakeholders informed. Stay in the loop with local happenings and develop content to highlight the vibrancy of downtown. Photography and basic editing skills are a bonus! Office & Administrative Tasks Maintain an organized and functional office space. Assist with coding and scanning invoices for approval. Reconcile budget reports monthly to ensure financial accuracy.
