(COMMUNITY SCHOOLS) Milwaukee Public Schools - 3.7 Milwaukee, WI Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $75,000 a year 10 hours ago Qualifications Team leadership Change management Bachelor's degree Working with students Working with families Experience working with families with children Working with youth Full Job Description Job Summary Milwaukee Recreation, a department of Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and energetic leader to oversee the implementation of the Community Schools initiative at a community school hub. This position plays a key role in organizing systems and practices that promote school improvement and the wellbeing of students, families, and the community. This individual will work closely with the school and community to ensure goals and metrics are met through collaboration and partnerships ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and enriching experiences for youth, families and the community. The successful candidate will provide direct support and guidance to school principals, school staff, students, families, partners and community members to strengthen relationships, foster collaboration, and ensure alignment with school improvement and initiative goals and metrics. This role also involves partnership development/coordination, program and meeting facilitation, school and community-wide asset mapping and the coordination of professional development opportunities for stakeholders. Ideal candidates will bring strong technical expertise in community organizing, a proven ability to manage multiple projects, and a deep commitment to creating equitable, high-quality opportunities for Milwaukee's youth, families and the overall community. ;
Salary Range:
$65,000 - $75,000. Xiong, talent management specialist, with any questions: Responsibilities Oversee the implementation of the Community Schools Strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and the well-being of children, families, schools and the surrounding community. Provide training and technical assistance activities to community partners, key stakeholders, school staff, and volunteers as needed, in alignment to the Community Schools Model. Coordinate, support and participate in parent meetings, community events, and outreach initiatives as they align with school and community transformation. Complete evaluations to determine program effectiveness and areas for improvements. ; Monitor and analyze outcomes related to the goals and benchmarks of Community Schools. Prepare monthly reports to share with stakeholders, including school staff, students, families, community residents, and partners. Conduct meetings with the principal to provide updates, review goals and objectives, and address any concerns related to the implementation of the strategy as it aligns to school and community improvement. Establish partnerships with other MPS departments, schools, governmental units, agencies, and community-based organizations to ensure progress is being made towards goals and metrics as well as school and community needs. Support the recruitment of students, staff, families and community members to school and initiative-wide events, programs, and projects. ; Meet with Community Schools staff regularly to provide updates, review goals and objectives, and address any concerns related to implementing the Community Schools strategy. Attend regular meetings with the Community Schools' team with the goal of learning best practices and initiative wide strategies with the goal of implementing them at the community school hub. ; Participate in applicable school and community meetings, community partner organization meetings, neighborhood association meetings, youth meetings, and parent organization meetings to ensure strategic communication and alignment. Develop and maintain a calendar of programming during and beyond the school day for children, families, and the community including use of the building after school hours and community events related to school and community improvement. ; Assists with Recreation Department activities as needed. ; Serves on various community or employee committees as required and assigned. Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan. Performs other duties as assigned by Milwaukee Recreation Leadership and Community Schools staff. ; Qualifications Bachelor's Degree is required from an accredited college or university. Minimum of one (1) year of full-time professional work experience or equivalent supervising and implementing systems change initiatives.
Without a degree:
5 years of experience in community organizing. Proven experience working with youth, parents, families and community members in a recreation, social service, or school environment. Experience working in an urban environment is preferred.
