Job Description
The Town of Jackson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Community Service Officer - Patrol in the Police Department. The hiring range for this position is $62,019 - $80,625. Duties for this position include responsibility for parking enforcement, animal control, VIN inspections, traffic control assistance, special events, code compliance and enforcement, investigating minor crime/incidents, service-oriented calls for assistance, data entry/related office work including evidence handling and backup duties at the Animal Shelter. We are looking for a value-centered, team-oriented professional looking for a career in law enforcement to join our organization. Community Service Officers in Patrol are entry level positions that provide an opportunity to work and train in a law enforcement agency with the potential to test and obtain Sworn Peace Officer status as part of the career path. Sworn Peace Officer status preferred, but not required, with increased hourly wage for sworn officer duties. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School graduation or equivalent, and a valid Drivers License.
