The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. •A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations•Nature of Work The fundamental reason this position exists is to perform administrative and operational duties in overseeing the daily operations of the City's public safety departments. The employee is the Mayor's designee on all public safety matters and serves as a liaison to other City departments, outside government agencies, and the community. The work responsibilities include overseeing activities of the public safety departments; developing short- and long-range plans; receiving and handling complaints and requests from the public; working on special projects, events, and programs; and supervising employees to include the Police Chief, Fire Chief, Emergency Management Agency Director, and the Director of Emergency Communications. This position reports directly to the Mayor. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field and at least five (5) years' of executive-level experience in a public safety or military organization to include policy and procedure development and administration.

Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
