Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented District Prosecutor Assistant to work directly with the Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney on a daily basis in the Pocahontas headquarters. The Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's office is responsible for virtually all prosecutions in Randolph, Lawrence, Sharp, and Jackson counties. It includes a team of 8 deputy prosecutors, 4 victim advocates, and 5 administrative assistants. This position involves providing comprehensive legal administrative support, assisting Prosecutors and Victim Advocates with a variety of legal tasks, and assisting the Prosecuting Attorney with high-profile jury trials. It also includes regular bookkeeping and public relations. The ideal candidate will . Duties and skills Assist prosecutors with case preparation and in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence logs, and procedural documents Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents. Manage confidential information responsibly while maintaining strict adherence to privacy protocols Coordinate scheduling, court filings, and communication with deputy prosecutors, victim advocates, law enforcement officers and witnesses. Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing files, and supporting office operations efficiently Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with law enforcement, clerks, judges and for help managing a team of deputy prosecutors. Bookkeeping skills for managing multiple bank accounts that are audited annually. Ability to find and take advantage of public relations opportunities on social media, speaking engagement, and press releases. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document creation and data management Paralegal experience or equivalent legal support background preferred
