Schedule flexibility may be permitted with Superintendent approval; however, extended absences, late arrivals, early departures, and time away from work must be properly communicated and reported in accordance with District leave procedures. Attendance at meetings, conferences, trainings, County Office meetings, and other District-approved business activities is considered part of the position's responsibilities and is not considered an absence. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Prior experience as a Chief Business Official or equivalent fiscal administrator in a California public school district is required. Applicants without direct California school district business services experience will not be considered.
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a Chief Business Official (CBO), Director of Business Services, or equivalent fiscal leadership position in a California public school district is required.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing district budgets, multiyear financial projections, state and federal reporting requirements, payroll oversight, and fiscal compliance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to perform complex financial recordkeeping and accounting functions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Thorough knowledge of school district budget development, budget monitoring, and financial reporting procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of California school finance, including the State Accounting Manual (CSAM), Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS), Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), state and federal categorical programs, and applicable payroll laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of payroll policies, employee benefits administration, and fiscal reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheet, database, financial management, and word processing software.
- Ability to analyze financial data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present fiscal information clearly to the Superintendent, Governing Board, staff, and community.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district personnel, county office staff, auditors, and state agencies.
