Send job Job Details Nestled at the northern end of the Peninsula, 11 miles south of San Francisco, is the small community of Colma (pop 1,700). Covering 2.2 square miles, Colma is the smallest Town in San Mateo County, boasts an old-world charm, and enjoys a strong tax base. The Public Works Director , a newly established position, serves as the City Engineer and oversees all public works and engineering functions for the Town. Reporting to the City Manager, the Director collaborates closely with executives and staff across the organization to ensure the Town's infrastructure, capital projects, and public facilities are strategically planned, well-maintained, and delivered with excellence. The Director oversees three employees in the maintenance division. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer and public works professional with strong leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills and experience working with consultants. They bring deep technical knowledge and an impressive record in capital project delivery. A minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in public works or engineering, including at least three years of supervisory or management experience. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer with California is required. The salary range goes up to $274,643; salary is supplemented by an attractive benefits package.
