The Director of Supported Living provides strategic and operational leadership for the Supported Living Program (SLP), ensuring high-quality, person-centered services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Director of Supported Living oversees program operations, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and excellence. In partnership with the SVP of Community Programs, the Director of Supported Living supports program growth, innovation, and long-term planning while ensuring alignment with DDS, CARF, and organizational standards. This leadership role is instrumental in helping individuals achieve maximum independence, community inclusion, and quality of life.Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development Supervise and support Program Managers, Benefits Coordinators, and Support Coordinators Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts in partnership with Human Resources Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to staff Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture Lead staff and management meetings and support ongoing professional development opportunities Program Oversight & Service Delivery Oversee daily operations of the Supported Living Program Ensure services remain person-centered, outcomes-driven, and aligned with best practices Monitor implementation of individualized service plans and measurable goals Support successful transitions within programs and levels of care Build strong relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with DDS, CARF, and organizational standards Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and corrective action planning Monitor incident reporting, documentation, and risk management processes Track program outcomes and performance metrics to support continuous improvement Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist with program budgeting, staffing, payroll, billing, and reimbursement oversight Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for operational efficiency Ensure timely and accurate DDS and private service billing Maintain organized records related to expenditures and purchasing Strategic Planning & Community Engagement Partner with senior leadership on long-term planning and program growth Identify opportunities for new services and program expansion Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and forums Develop strong partnerships with DDS, providers, advocacy groups, and community organizationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Special Education, or a related field required (Master's degree preferred) Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) Previous supervisory and leadership experience required Experience with program development and service coordination Preferred Skills & Experience Strong understanding of DDS regulations, CARF standards, and person-centered practices Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with outcomes-based service models and quality assurance practices Strong organizational and documentation skills Proficiency with electronic documentation systems such as SetWorks Valid Connecticut driver's license required; ability to obtain Public Service License Do not meet every single requirement?
