PRIMARY FUNCTION
The YouthBuild Program Director provides strategic leadership, oversight, and management of the YouthBuild program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements while delivering high-quality education, workforce development, leadership development, and support services to opportunity youth ages 16-24. The Director is responsible for program operations, staff supervision, budget management, community partnerships, grant compliance, and achievement of program outcomes.KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities) Direct the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of the YouthBuild program. Develop annual program goals, objectives, and performance measures. Ensure services align with YouthBuild grant requirements and organizational mission. Monitor participant recruitment, enrollment, retention, completion, and placement outcomes. Foster a positive, youth-centered culture focused on leadership, education, and career readiness. Ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Labor YouthBuild regulations and other applicable funding requirements. Prepare and submit accurate program reports and documentation. Monitor participant files, case management, and data entry for quality assurance. Coordinate monitoring visits and respond to audit findings as needed. Monitor expenditures and ensure fiscal accountability. Collaborate with finance staff on grant reporting and budget modifications. Analyze program data to improve outcomes. Track key performance indicators, including: Enrollment Credential attainment High school diploma/GED completion Occupational skills training completion Job placement Postsecondary enrollment Retention Develop corrective action plans when performance goals are not being met. Ensure participants receive comprehensive support services, including career counseling, case management, leadership development, and follow-up services.- Performs other duties as assigned. Program Supervision
- Provides direct leadership, supervision, and performance coaching to program staff. Sets clear expectations, delivers timely feedback, and ensures accountability for results.
- Supports the development and retention of staff through recognition, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations, including annual reviews, goal setting, and coaching sessions, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and personal development goals.
- Communicates, implements, and enforces organization's operational policies and procedures.
- Handles crisis and safety situations and takes action to resolve conflicts, disputes and/or concerns of staff, volunteers and/or Club members.
