Job Description
Graceland University is seeking a full-time Executive Director for Housing and Student Engagement/Associate Dean of Students. The Associate Dean of Students supports the University's mission by providing strategic leadership for the holistic student experience. This includes oversight of residential living, student government, campus activities, and coordination with the Vice President of Student Life on revenue-generating functions such as conferences and events.
Primary Responsibilities Residential Strategy:
Provide leadership for Residence Life, including the House system, theme housing, and campus apartments
Housing Operations:
Oversee occupancy management, assignments, billing processes, and Residential Living Policy appeals
Activities & Programming:
Supervise staff responsible for campus-wide programming, ensuring a vibrant, inclusive, and consistent calendar of events Staff Supervision Select, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of professional and student staff.
Direct reports include:
Three (3) Community Directors (Residence Life), each with a collateral assignment: Coordinator of Student Activities Coordinator of Conference & Events Coordinator of Student Conduct Executive Coordinator & Student Life Data Analyst Additional supervisory responsibilities include: Ongoing coaching through regular one-on-one and group meetings Leadership and development of 25+ student staff, including House Presidents and academic-year and summer staff Budgetary Oversight Manage multiple departmental budgets, including Residence Life Lead fiscal planning, resource allocation, and revenue tracking Support and monitor revenue-generating operations such as conferences and events
Qualifications Education:
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, MBA, or a related field required
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in student life or higher education operations Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff and managing complex budgets
Skills:
