Job Description

INTERNAL POSTING- PUBLIC HEALTH & WELLNESS EMPLOYEES ONLY
Summary Objective The purpose of this position is to supervise the operations of health service clinics, public health services, or community health programs. Coordinate program activities with other health service programs or community agencies. This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. Assists in budget preparation and monitors and controls expenditures. Plans, coordinates, and supervises a health service site or public health program. Evaluates and recommends improvements in health care procedures, services and facilities. Conducts training classes, lectures, and seminars on public health related topics and departmental programs. Coordinates program activities with other health service programs or community agencies. Represents the department to the public and attends public meetings and conferences to discuss, inform, and instruct others concerning health services and programs. • Participates in quality assurance activities. Reviews employee timesheets, mileage reports, and other expenditures for accuracy. Collects statistical data and prepares reports regarding program or performance activities. Executes and maintains program records, grant regulated policies, and team performance procedures. Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business or Public Administration, Public or Community Health, Dietetics, Home Economics, Nutrition, or related discipline. Three (3) years of nursing, primary care, community or public health services, public health science, nutritionist, or social service experience.
EQUIVALENCY
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be vaccinated for hepatitis B, have provided evidence of immunity, or have signed a declination form within ten days of initial assignment. Must provide one's own source of transportation. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
