Join the Office of Public Health as a Tri-Regional Emergency Preparedness Planner and help strengthen Louisiana's readiness for public health emergencies. In this impactful role, you'll lead regional planning efforts, collaborate with local and tribal partners, and support emergency preparedness initiatives that protect communities across the state. This position requires routine statewide duties, including fieldwork, inspections, investigations, or direct services that extend beyond the employee's domicile parish. These statewide responsibilities are an inherent and ongoing part of the job and may require frequent travel. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:

Develops, reviews, and updates regional emergency preparedness plans, policies, protocols, and agreements to ensure compliance with state and federal public health preparedness requirements. Coordinates emergency preparedness planning activities, including Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), Point of Dispensing (POD), Medical Needs Sheltering (MNS), and other all-hazards response initiatives. Collaborates with local, regional, tribal, and community partners to strengthen emergency preparedness, conduct outreach, and improve public health response capabilities. Coordinates and delivers training, exercises, and emergency preparedness activities for public health staff and external stakeholders while supporting regional emergency response operations. Serves as a member of the Regional Incident Management Team by supporting emergency activations, monitoring hazardous incident reports, and assisting with real-world public health responses. Prepares and maintains emergency preparedness documentation, grant deliverables, incident reports, After Action Reports (AARs), staff databases, and other required program records. Partners with regional leadership and the Bureau of Community Preparedness to support program goals, ensure operational readiness, and perform additional planning and response activities as needed.
