Information Technologist IV

Position Summary The DPPS Information Technologist IV provides strategic leadership and hands‑on technical expertise across critical infrastructure, security, and enterprise systems related to public safety functions. This role oversees the complex IT environment of the sole university law enforcement department supporting public‑safety operations, physical security platforms, and criminal justice technology services. The position ensures compliance with federal and state security standards, drives operational excellence, and advances a secure, resilient, and modern technology ecosystem.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical proficiency, strong project leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across university administrative and academic units, alliance with the central university IT Services unit, and liaise with partner law enforcement agencies. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to Public Safety; and more than ten years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in systems administration and network management, including experience overseeing large, complex or critical information technology projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience with and deep knowledge of FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy 6.0, including compliance, auditing, and operational controls. Hands‑on administration of HPE Alletra disaggregated HCI systems running VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including environments utilizing HPE Cumulus NOS.
