Job Description
Welcome to the City of Willard, Missouri (population 6,350), a growing, family‑oriented community just northwest of Springfield. Willard operates with a $9M annual budget and a team of 75 employees , providing services including police, planning and zoning, economic development, parks and recreation, public works, water, and sewer. We are seeking a collaborative, forward‑thinking City Administrator to help guide responsible growth, strengthen infrastructure, and build strong relationships with residents, staff, and elected officials. What You'll Do Provide strategic leadership to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Manage the City's annual budget and oversee municipal finance Lead public works and infrastructure planning Support responsible growth and long‑term community planning Build trust with residents through open communication Mentor and support staff; promote a culture of accountability Advance economic development and community partnerships What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred) Equivalent education/experience combinations accepted 3+ years of progressively responsible municipal government experience Strong skills in budgeting, public works oversight, and leadership Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
