Our mission is to empower survivors, promote safety, and create lasting social change through advocacy, education, and support services. Job Overview The Program Manager provides programmatic leadership and oversight within our state-funded domestic violence shelter program. This role serves as the critical bridge between program leadership and direct service staff, ensuring trauma-informed, survivor-centered services for women and children. The position supports the program's compliance with New Jersey Coalition Against Domestic Violence standards while addressing the complex needs of domestic violence survivors experiencing co-occurring challenges. The Program Manager's schedule will be Sunday-Thursday, 12p-8p. Responsibilities Clinical Services & Assessment Conduct comprehensive post-acceptance program assessments for all shelter residents Evaluate safety planning needs, trauma presentations, and co-occurring mental health/substance use concerns Develop individualized service plans focused on empowerment and survivor self-determination Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Coalition requirements Crisis Response & Safety Planning Lead immediate crisis intervention for domestic violence survivors experiencing psychological distress Coordinate resident safety planning Provide specialized support for survivors with complex trauma presentations Collaborate with law enforcement and court advocates when safety risks require immediate intervention Facilitate debriefing and safety planning following incidents involving resident safety Staff Support & Program Oversight Provide clinical consultation to Resident Assistants and program staff Offer secondary trauma support for staff working with survivors of intimate partner violence Conduct case consultations focused on safety planning, empowerment, and trauma recovery Ensure all clinical services align with DCF contract requirements for domestic violence shelter services Provide on-site supervisory support in the absence of the Director Implement trauma-informed policies and procedures specific to shelter operations Community Partnership & Advocacy Collaborate with Family Justice Center staff on complex cases involving legal proceedings Coordinate referrals to specialized domestic violence counseling and advocacy services Participate in domestic violence task forces, coalitions, and community response teams Advocate for appropriate housing and service placements that prioritize survivor safety Facilitate connections to long-term domestic violence support services upon shelter exit Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field is preferred Current clinical license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent) preferred Minimum 3-5 years of residential setting experience; preferably with domestic violence survivors Demonstrated expertise in domestic violence dynamics, safety planning, and trauma recovery Experience providing crisis intervention services in residential or emergency settings Knowledge of legal systems, protection from abuse orders, and court advocacy processes Understanding of New Jersey domestic violence laws, Coalition standards, and DCF requirements Physical Requirements Ability to work in a confidential shelter environment with potential safety risks; comfortable responding to domestic violence-related crises Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families, service providers, and others Ability to remain calm and composed under stress Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make independent judgments/decisions Occasional off-hours availability for emergency safety situations Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for court appearances and community meetings Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25lbs, perform sedentary work for extended periods, and frequently move throughout the work area as needed.

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
