Company Overview HopeWorks is a non-profit social service agency dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness through comprehensive services including shelter, outreach, behavioral health, job development, and housing programs. With a team of approximately 60 staff members, HopeWorks serves over 7,000 clients annually, committed to fostering stability and independence within underserved communities. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Housing Programs Director to lead our housing initiatives and oversee the development, management, and evaluation of housing services for individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in social services, and a passion for empowering underserved populations. Reporting directly to the CEO of HopeWorks, Housing Programs Director will be responsible for the direction and oversight of all HopeWorks housing programs and funds which includes Hope Village, Linkages, COCRA, Casa Bonita and others that may be brought in under HopeWorks management. Housing Programs Director will supervise all housing program and property manager(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Will be the senior point of contact regarding funders and regulators of HopeWorks housing programs and will represent HopeWorks in discussions and meetings with the aforementioned. 2. Maintain monthly demographics. 3. Ensuring client files are maintained in a manner that matches or exceeds HUD expectations. 4. Attend HMIS training and oversee quality of HMIS Data for all Housing Programs using HMIS. 5. Produce monthly reports as required. 6. Perform HUD inspections on rental units. 7. Train staff to conduct HUD Inspections 8. Conduct Voucher briefings with clients and train Housing Staff to conduct such briefings. 9. Maintain record of and perform annual HUD re-inspections. 10. Produce Quarterly and Annual reports for the City of ABQ, MFA, HUD, and any contact as requested. 11. Undergo annual site visits with clients. 12. Work with CFO and Dir. of BH Services on financial matters related to grants, including CoC funds. 13. Develop annual budget for the department and manage the department budget throughout the year. 14. Send various notices of violation. 15. Manage/oversee intake of all new Housing clients ensuring they meet eligibility requirements. 16. Meeting with clients as necessary.. 17. Work in partnership with partnering agencies to obtain required housing documentation. 18. Perform annual training regarding Housing Programs for HopeWorks staff. 19. Participate and prepare for audit compliance. 20. Update and Develop Standard Operating Procedures as needed and as requested from supervising staff.
Supervision:
1. Responsible for supervising, directing and overseeing the functions of the Housing Department Staff. a. Daily scheduling and supervision b. Set expectations of job requirements c. Conduct or coordinate relevant training d. Perform annual performance evaluations e. Interview and select candidates for open positions f. Coaching or disciplinary actions as appropriate g. Ensure compliance with paperwork requirements Other Duties & Responsibilities 1. Act as liaison to other agencies concerning housing issues. 2. Research low-income housing opportunities for clients. 3. Interact with clients as needed concerning housing issues. 4. Attend various conferences and training focused on housing issues. 5. Carry out all duties in a manner that is consistent with HopeWorks mission, philosophy (including Housing First), and policies.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
1. Undergraduate degree. 2. Experience working with HUD, and other Housing programs. 3. Supervisory/administrative experience. 4. Property maintenance and management experience a plus but not required. 5. At least 5 years' experience with SDMI population/homeless adults.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS 1.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with homeless/near homeless population displaying a high degree of sensitivity to their unique needs. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with a wide variety of people, including clients, staff, colleagues, vendors and individuals throughout the community. 3. Willingness and demonstrated ability to adhere to HopeWorks mission, vision and values in carrying out all facets of job responsibilities. 4. Demonstrated ability to direct, lead and train others. 5. Strong organizational, team building and supervisory/management skills. 6. Effective time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines. 7. Ability to work independently displaying good judgment and problem solving skills. 8. Good computer skills including, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and database. 9. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a good driving record and be insurable by agency's insurance carrier. 10. Bilingual helpful. 11. Duties may be changed based on agency needs.

From $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
