The team supports specialized behavioral health and public safety operations through coordination between law enforcement personnel and behavioral health professionals. Why does the job exist? This position provides senior-level administrative support to the Behavioral Co-Responder Team and assists leadership with the coordination, organization, and administration of program operations, allowing the team to operate efficiently and effectively. How does it get done? Coordinates administrative operations including scheduling, correspondence, records management, procurement, fiscal activities, travel, meetings, and program documentation. Maintains administrative and reporting systems, assists with budget and personnel-related functions, coordinates activities with other agency units, prepares reports and spreadsheets, and ensures administrative processes comply with applicable policies and procedures. These responsibilities are consistent with the classification's senior-level role in coordinating administrative support, program management, budgets, records, procurement, and reporting systems. Who are the customers? New Mexico Department of Public Safety and New Mexico State Police, specifically the Special Operations Bureau and Behavioral Co-Responder Team leadership and personnel. Ideal Candidate New Mexico Department of Public Safety and New Mexico State Police, specifically the Special Operations Bureau and Behavioral Co-Responder Team leadership and personnel. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in office administration, customer service, records management technique and procedures, basic accounting, and/or business administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one year (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and fingerprinting in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations; and is conditional pending results. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony free, per Section 5.12.1.1 of the Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy. In addition, the selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate from the State of New Mexico. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with extensive use of computers, telephones, electronic records systems, and other office equipment. The position will routinely interact with department personnel, government agencies, community partners, and the public and may require coordination of meetings, training, travel, and other program activities.
