The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Records Specialist in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, supports the City's compliance with public records laws by collecting, reviewing, redacting, and preparing records—including body-worn camera footage and audio—for release; ensures accuracy, consistency, adherence to statutory and departmental requirements, and safeguards confidential or sensitive information; and performs related duties as assigned
NOTE:
The incumbent for this position will perform regular review of Body Worn Camera and photos containing sensitive and potentially graphic material, including crimes, accidents, medical emergencies, and individuals during vulnerable moments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in law enforcement, legal, or related field.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Competitive Salary Range of $32.38 to $49.36 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Communications, or a closely related fieldTwo (2) years of experience in administrative/customer service involving direct public contact

An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be consideredMust pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants checkMust obtain and maintain Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification upon hire/transfer and recertify as needed. Must maintain certifications in
NCIC/NCJIS
as a condition of continued employment.
